Contestant Data
Name: Jerri Roey
Hometown: Hoschton, GA

I'm Jerri Roey and I live in Hoschton, Ga. I took a stained glass class in 1986, but quit almost immediately due to school and work. Nearly 10 years later, my husband and I bought a home with an extra room over the garage, and he started encouraging me to take up stained glass again. Although I'd quit working as a transplant RN, I had a two year-old who kept me pretty busy, so I was reluctant to get back into it, but once I started cutting and playing, I was hooked again. I'm really a hobbyist and enjoy making lightcatchers, boxes, a little fusing, stepping stones, and small to medium panels. I mostly work with copper foil.

About two years ago, I took a lampwork class and learned to make glass beads. I've taken a couple of other lampwork classes, and began selling beads to support my glass habit. Although now I am primarily a lampworker, I still love stained glass, and when I read about the contest, that pesky husband (him again!) started encouraging me to enter it. Again, I was reluctant, but thought the contest might motivate and inspire me to do a little more stained glass.

Besides being a mom to one human child, I'm mom to three rescue dogs, two rescue guinea pigs, and one cockatiel.
