Contestant Data I'm a 50-year old who decided that as I was approaching my second childhood I wanted something more exciting in my life and decided to try something different. First it was to learn to drive a motorcycle, then the purchase of one, then the desire for some form of hobby. In looking at what our local arts center offered, I chose against painting and drawing as I've never considered myself to be very artistic (handy, but not artistic), and against ceramics as I hate to get my hands dirty. I can't focus long enough any more to take up a musical instrument, and don't wear jewelry, so that was out of the question. The hobby by default became stained glass, and I'm so glad to have made that decision. I've now been doing glass for a little over a year and really enjoy it. I've taken numerous classes doing things that I'd never do again, but each time I take a class I learn something useful. I've done a few medium sized panels as well as all the little stuff. I'm tired of doing little things like boxes, sun catchers, and picture frames and am ready to move on. I normally would never have considered entering a contest in something I'm so new at, but decided it would help me get my creative juices flowing. I think I can cut and solder along with the best, so I'm willing to put my talent on the line. If I get past the first round sucessfully, I'll be a winner in my own mind!!! Good luck to all. Let the Glass begin!!!
