My name is Patrick Henry Wheeldon Mahn and I reside in the great state of Texas in the United States of America. I am a fifty-seven year old white male, celebrating thirty-five+ years of marriage with my wife, Linda. We have successfully raised three wonderful Christian offspring and have five beautiful grandsons.

Many a Sunday sermon fell upon my deaf ears because I was magnetized by the awesome beauty from the stained glass windows which engulfed the church's sanctuary. As a youngster, I was so inspired with the beauty of stained glass art that, I knew one day I would use this media to express my own inner artist desires. On Father's Day of 1996 that desire became a reality. My wife's present to me of a course on "Introduction of Stained Glass for the Beginners" from a local stained glass shop was the beginning of my breaking glass experience. I have been a stained glass hobbyist advocate every since. Making up stained glass projects for family members and friends as gifts has been the extent of my success so far. I have made up many a cross for church members, some hummingbird suncatchers, couple of lighthouses, dragon for my daughter, and several birds with flower items.

I am a long-haul interstate trucker by profession. I have spent many many weeks out on the road away from my family making a living. I look forward to each of my home leave time from trucking when my wife, eldest son, and I spend time together working on stained glass projects. My dream and goal is to retire from the trucking industry and be able to open a stained glass shop for a living. I have set up and started working, out of my own home, a stained glass business by the named "Broken Glass Art Studio".

I am working up an inventory of stained glass projects which will be my entry in to a local art fair this coming August 2001. From there I hope to launch into the stained glass business mode. This Battlefield:Glass contest will give me some experience and knowledge from which I can use in my future. I thank you for giving me this opportunity and look forward to the task.
