Battlefield:Glass is a contest designed to inspire creativity and innovation in the art of stained glass. A pool of contestants was gathered on the Internet to be placed in a Head-to-Head competition where they'll match their creativity and style against another artist from somewhere in the world. Each contestant is mailed a "Theme Item" to use in their project. The object: to come up with their own unique design incorporating the Theme Item.

So what's a Theme Item? A Theme Item can be anything we choose (hey, it's our contest) from stained glass supplies. The item can be anything from a piece of glass, to a lead casting, to part of a pattern, etc. The only catch is that the Theme Item must appear in the finished project. Each round of competition will feature a different Theme Item.

At the end of each round, the contestants will have the pictures of their projects posted here, on this web site. Each project will be voted on by a panel of judges, looking for creativity, style, innovation, etc. Here's a little wrinkle we threw in: there will be 4 judges and a fifth judge comprising of the Internet Vote. Yup, we're going to let the world cast a vote for their favorite project!

The winners of each round will advance to the next round until we crown an overall champion. Not only does the Champ get to have bragging rights, but they'll receive a cool $1,000 to spend at Warner-Crivellaro Stained Glass. There will be 6 total rounds of competition, gift certificates will be rewarded to the contestants who advance from Round 1 until the final round.
