How long have you been doing stained glass?
more than 5 years
How did you first get started in stained glass?
I had always loved looking at stained glass even as a child, but didn't get into it until I was around 30.I decided that it was time to take a class to see if I liked working with it. Well, I loved it. My first piece still hangs in my kitchen.
What expectations do you have heading into this contest?
None. I just want to have fun and possibly learn something.
What do you feel are your strong/weak points in stained glass?
Strong points:
*Always thinking of the next project.
*Don't mind getting cut and burned.
*Able to take existing patterns and alter them successfully.
*Enjoy taking classes to learn new applications.
*Love experimenting.
Weak points:
*Always thinking of the next project.
*A little apprehensive about using color.
*Collecting glass...lots of glass. I can't resist buying just one more piece.
*Feel guilty about leaving my husband alone in the evening to work on my glass projects.(I'm working really hard on this one)
What other hobbies do you enjoy?
Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, indoor and outdoor gardening.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?
I just recently finished my first experience with teaching stained glass at the local Park District. I enjoyed every minute of it and am thrilled to be passing on my love of this art to others, and having them love it too.
