Title: zoo, size: 20" x 20"
Base: wooden box 6" deep, sides mirror, contains all electrical components.
Surface: three layers of clear glass, bonded together to form base. Openings provided for fiber optics,
string lights, heat release.
Grass area: green gluechip boned to base using mosaic pattern, with the spaces or joints being filled
with gold glitter and clear craft coat.
Walk area: glass nuggets, yellow-orange color, spaces filled with a
Kraft coat & gold glitter. The surface is lighted by lamps in the base.
Fountain: first theme item, filigree wings, are attached to lead cast angel, colored to appeal as aged
copper, pool base is spectrum blue with holes for fiber optics which appear as the water spray and is colored
lit from base.
Structure: contains the last two theme items. Camels are mounted to both sides of entrance, the arch contains
the orange jewel and these three other colors, yellow, red, purple and being lit from the inside by 35 lamps.
The main arch jewels are recessed. The roof area contains openings for heat escape and light maintance.
Background tree: main trunk and limbs are hand made using brass tube and twisted copper wire, filled with
silver solder to form tree with the center filled with fiber optics, lit from under surface. The foliage are
flatten green nuggets. background: clear glass with a hand etched - tree and flower design, giving the project
it depth. The entire art work was made without using drawings, and my only help was from my wife,
who did the etchings, colored the camels and helped with color selections. |
