The photos show the full panel in backlight and a partial view in reflected light. These contrasting images
display not only the use of the required elements, but also show the vast difference in "night" and "day" colors.
My primary problem in this round was one of design scale. Each sketch, acceptable in miniature, fell apart when
confronted with the reality of a 4" x 6" bevel. The world of Bill, the Ding-a-ling Amazon parrot began with the
idea of one clawed foot stretched to grab a piece of wind chime.
Design time--days.
It took me about 2 days to mark and cut the pieces, 6 hours to shape them, 8 to foil and 4 to solder.
Required Elements:
Flat panel 21 x 29.75 inches
One 4" by 6" bevel is the top of the wind chime
The 2 hexagon mirrors are the knobs used (a) at the top of the window to hold the wind chimes and (b) as the hook
for the curtain tie back. Each mirror was embellished with copper foil to give it substance and a more traditional
look
The white jewels (35) are the fringes on the tieback.
